About Janek
Hi, I'm Janek, I went into maths because I love it, and I want to help other people see why. For me, tutoring is about inspiring a real passion for the subject, because when something clicks and starts to feel exciting rather than intimidating, everything gets easier.
I believe everyone has the chance to become great at maths, whatever their starting point or past experience. Confidence is a huge part of that, so I focus on creating a supportive space where mistakes are part of learning and no question is too small. I'm just as keen to help you believe in your own ability as I am to help you get the grades you're aiming for.

Hi, and welcome! I'm Janek, a Mathematics student at the University of Bristol, and I tutor Maths, Further Maths and Physics up to and including A-level. I achieved AAAA at A-level in Maths, Physics, Further Maths and Economics, so I know exactly what it takes to do well in these subjects, and I remember what it's like to be on your side of the desk.
My lessons are relaxed, friendly and tailored to you. We start by working out where you are and where you want to be, then build a clear plan from there. I explain ideas step by step, use plenty of worked examples, and we practise together until things click. There's no judgement, and questions are always welcome, however small they seem.
Lessons are 60 minutes long, and I can adjust the pace and focus to suit you, whether that's exam preparation, catching up, stretching yourself, or just building confidence. I'm happy to work with students at GCSE and A-level, and I'll share notes and practice questions between sessions where they'd help.
