About Bernard

I encourage students by asking them questions on the maths they have written whether it is right or wrong so that they truly understand why they are doing what they are doing rather than abruptly stopping them for a mistake or just saying "Yes, that's right" and then moving on. As they understand more they gain more confidence doing the more difficult mathematics. This also helps them see how different parts of maths link together as they can recognise the patterns better. I enjoy teaching maths because I truly love the subject and being able to share that with other people is wonderful. I believe that great understanding and lots of practice is all it takes for the top grades, so I will set homework between lessons to really make sure that what we did that day is perfected. I received A*'s in both Edexcel Maths and Further Maths so I am very experienced with the Edexcel exam board and their exercise books and it shows that my method of teaching will work. I am currently studying Maths at the University of Warwick. I have a couple of years of experience tutoring. I have taught family members, kids within school and kids outside of school all from a range of ages.
