I am currently working as both an online tutor and as a placement tutor of English Language, English Literature and English as a Foreign Language. My background is a BA Hons degree in English Literature and a CELTA. I have also recently achieved a Post Graduate Diploma in English Literary Studies and am currently working on my dissertation to gain the full MA Hons degree later this year. I hope to do a PhD next year.I am also a qualified private speech and drama teacher. I teach to GCSE standard currently but am happy to tutor A level standard in Literature too. I have a good retention record and have often tutored children of a whole family seeing them through their secondary school years to GCSE's.
My personality is both outgoing and personable whilst at the the same timing being very motivational. I have had students from very disadvantaged backgrounds who have managed to achieve things they initially thought impossible. This is very rewarding for me personally and I'm very proud of my students when they work so hard against the odds. I am willing to tutor for entrance exams and to do last minute intervention work that can assist with last minute nerves before exams! It is also a pleasure for me to teach more able students in order to give them a final push to achieve the best results as possible for their futures.I have three sons myself and am familiar with some difficulties children can present with and their variety of needs.
I have also taught English as a Foreign Language in both public schools, online, university individually in homes, and in a mosque making my experience of this subject varied.
My online jobs work well and enable parents to organise tuition at different times if, for example, they can't be around to take their child to or from Tutors' homes. I am a very professional individual and maintain the same boundaries between myself and my student as I would face to face. I am very reliable and committed to achieving the optimum results for each of my students, whilst hopefully making their whole learning experience both satisfying and enjoyable.
