About Ellie
Since I was a young student myself, I have always had a passion for education, broadening my own knowledge, and strengthening my own academic skills in the classroom. Even more ardently, I have always had a fierce love and passion for being around and teaching children. This calling has shaped not only my career path but also the way I approach life. The joy of seeing a child's eyes light up when they grasp a new concept, the satisfaction of helping them find confidence in their abilities, and the unique energy that children bring into the classroom have always inspired me. Teaching, for me, goes beyond simply imparting knowledge; it is about fostering a love for learning. I believe that education is the key to unlocking a child's potential, and it is a privilege to be a part of that journey. My enthusiasm for teaching is rooted in a desire to make a difference in the lives of young learners, helping them to develop the skills they need to succeed both academically and personally.
My teaching style is a harmonious blend of patience, gentleness, and energy. I understand that learning a new language can be daunting, especially for young children, which is why I approach each lesson with the utmost care and consideration. I take the time to ensure that every concept is fully understood, providing the support and encouragement needed for students to not only build their confidence in using English, but also foster a love for writing and speaking in the language.
In this work, professionalism is paramount. When working in a classroom, I maintain a structured yet flexible learning environment where students feel safe to explore and make mistakes. This approach fosters a trusting relationship between myself and the students, essential for effective learning. As an experienced language assistant and substitute teacher, my approach to guiding young learners is rooted in a gentle, patient, and energetic methodology. Specializing in helping children between the ages of 3-12 either learn English as a new language or enhance their existing skills, I strive to create a nurturing and dynamic environment where students feel both supported and motivated.
Understanding that every child is unique, I tailor my lessons to meet their individual needs, whether they are just beginning to explore English or aiming to refine their grammar and writing abilities. My experience working with a diverse range of students has taught me the importance of patience, allowing each child to progress at their own pace while ensuring they grasp the concepts fully. This gentle approach helps to build their confidence, making them more comfortable with the language.
At the same time, I bring energy and enthusiasm to each lesson, making learning an engaging and enjoyable experience. By incorporating interactive activities and creative exercises, I keep students interested and eager to participate, which is particularly important when working with younger children.
Having worked extensively with children in Spain, I am well-versed in the challenges one can face when learning English as a second language. This experience enables me to connect with my students effectively, understanding their struggles and celebrating their successes. My teaching is more than just imparting knowledge; it is about fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment where every child can thrive.
