About Emily
Hi,
I’m 26 years old and have been tutoring for the past 10 years in a wide range of subjects, but my specialty is math. I’ve helped students of all levels, from elementary to high school, prepare for major exams like the SATs, assisted with challenging topics throughout the school year, and provided ongoing support to make sure they stay on track.
During COVID, I gained extensive experience with online tutoring, so if that’s something you're interested in, I’m well-equipped to provide engaging and effective virtual lessons.
Emily :)

As a tutor, my goal is to make learning easier and more accessible by breaking down difficult problems into simple, understandable steps. Whether the sessions are online with a whiteboard or in person, I prioritize clear explanations and provide a supportive environment where students can ask as many questions as they need. Each session is tailored to the student's pace, ensuring we go over any challenging material as long as necessary.
Structure of Sessions
Review of Class Material:
We begin by reviewing what was covered in the student's recent class to ensure they understand the concepts.
Homework Assistance:
Next, we look at their homework, working through it together and addressing any confusion or problem areas.
Clarifying Difficult Concepts:
I focus on the topics where the student struggles, breaking them down into smaller steps to make them more understandable.
Flexible Learning Pace:
We revisit any unclear topics, ensuring the student fully grasps the material before moving on.
Tailored to All Levels
My tutoring is designed for all levels, from beginners to advanced students. Whether it’s one-on-one or a session with multiple students, such as siblings, I adapt the lessons to meet each student's unique needs.
