About Tom

I am currently working on my Bachelor thesis of Arts (Dance). I studied dance at HfMDK Frankfurt. My main job is as a freelance dancer and dance teacher in Germany. Performing and teaching is my passion, I look forward to share with you.

About the lesson

My style is a mixture of contemporary, modern and classical dance. For contemporary: I drew a lot of inspiration from urban dance and would like to develop my skills further. I usually structure my lessons as follows: 20-30 minutes of workout / warm-up, followed by movements on the floor that we later integrate into choreographies.

Contemporary ballet: 20-30 minutes workout / warm-up followed by basic bar exercises followed by free space exercises. I always adapt the speed and difficulty to my students and we try to find a way together.

Perfect! Tom unterrichtet mich jetzt seit ca. 4 Monaten und ich bin begeistert! Er vermittelt mir sowohl die Freude am Tanzen als auch das „Handwerkszeug“. Da ich bei Null angefangen habe, brauchte ich jemand, der sich in meine Lage versetzen kann und sich Gedanken macht, wie er mir das notwendige Wissen einfach und abwechslungsreich vermitteln kann – und das nicht nur durch das Tanzen selbst, sondern auch mit anderen Elementen: z. B. Dehnübungen, Yoga. Genau das macht er für mich perfekt!!!

Tom Diener hat in der Plattform 3, Zentrum für Tanz und Musik, Saarbrücken, angefangen zu tanzen und ist von hier zum Bühnentanz Studium an die Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst Frankfurt gestartet.
Er hat in unserem Sommerferienprogramm 2020 3 Tage Zeitgenössischen Tanz unterrichtet. Seine Unterrichts Vorbereitung war gut auf Anfänger*innen und Fortgeschritte angepasst, sein Unterricht war fordernd aber nicht überfordernd, er hat gut und fokussiert korrigiert. Die Leute hatten viel Spaß, die meisten kamen trotz Hitze alle drei Tage hintereinander, obwohl auch Einzeltermine gebucht werden konnten.
Ich wünsche ihm viel Erfolg und werde ihn gerne wieder zum Unterrichten in die Plattform 3 einladen.
