About Kayla
I am someone with a huge passion for dance, it is something I will always be grateful for. Being able to express myself through my movement, putting my emotions into how I dance is something life changing and something I will always strive to implement into my teaching. Using dance as a tool to express yourself is an amazing gift. But in order to have that, I had to have a good teacher, one who encourages, builds up, and pushes you to do your best. My experience is as follows:
- 7 years leadership/leadership development experience
- 4 years teaching dance to varying ages
-6 years training pre-professionally in ballet
- have trained in many various styles such as ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern, hip hop, jazz funk, contemporary fusion, etc.

Let’s start with the simple stuff, times, lesson layouts etc.
Classes are 1 hour with the option of splitting that between 2 styles of wanted, but that means less time for any 1 style.
You will need ballet flats (if you are en pointe or want to be that can be discussed further during a lesson) and a leotard and tights, or legging depending on what style you choose. The Leo and tights are so I can properly correct the student without there being any question of posture with baggy clothes being an obstacle. For anyone 5 and under they can wear what they feel most comfortable in but will still need ballet flats.
Now as far as methodology:
am someone who believes in honest hard work, I am someone who will push you to do your personal best. Everyone has a different capacity of what they can handle, and my ultimate goal is to push you to do what I as your instructor know you are capable of. This requires building a personal relationship and bond of trust between student and teacher, which I believe is vital to succeed. If you don’t want to be pushed to the next level, my class may not be a fit for you, but if you are willing to put in the work we will get along just fine! For my littles it’s not quite the same level of intensity, I just want them to have a good time and get to explore new potential passions!
