About Sonia
I am a qualified lawyer from the UK but have been teaching English Language and Literature at GCSE and A-level grade for the past 10 years. My goal is to make you love English (as I do) and make you feel incredibly confident about sitting your exam. I am very organised and will help you to learn in a detailed and in-depth way required for your exam, but also plan, create revision sources and design a revision strategy which is individual to you. I will also provide detailed feedback to you on your strengths and weaknesses and how to proceed to the next higher level of learning. I really hope our sessions will be engaging as well as making you an English Language/Literature success.

I have an upbeat and energetic approach to teaching and am dedicated to making my GCSE/A-level students love English as this is key to doing well! I use conversation, quizzes and music to engage even reluctant students but also set challenging exam type questions to ensure that learning takes place in every hourly lesson. I have taught both girls and boys, non-native speakers, I have a challenging schedule for high ability students but also gentle encouragement and scaffolding for those that may need more support. I am very familiar with all exam boards and what is required to achieve high marks and am a teacher with excellent exam results and give frequent progress reports to both parents and students to ensure learning success.
