About Kate
I’m a chess tutor with 7+ years of experience guiding students toward deeper understanding and confident play. I hold a Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis on chess history and strategic thinking. Chess is a lifelong skill. My teaching approach focuses on structure, creativity, and adaptability. We explore openings through ideas rather than memorization. Middlegame planning is a major focus. Endgames are treated as essential, not optional. I believe in holistic development through game analysis, tactical awareness, and strategic balance. Students also train calculation accuracy and board visualization. Rhythm and timing matter in chess. I’ve helped students move from Early Intermediate to Advanced Intermediate levels. I also support experienced players refining their personal style. Lessons are clear, challenging, and supportive. Join me to develop confident and expressive chess thinking.
