About Taryn

Music has always been my favorite language, and I love sharing it through the guitar. With over 3 years of experience teaching both online and in-person, I help students build confidence in playing and creating music that feels personal. I earned my Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance (Contemporary Styles), which shaped my understanding of harmony and composition. My lessons integrate arranging, songwriting, and improvisation to develop a complete musician. I emphasize melodic invention, counterpoint, and chordal textures that bring life to your playing. Recording basic demos is part of the creative process we explore. I’ve had the pleasure of teaching beginners, advanced players, and aspiring composers. Each lesson is built around your goals and musical identity. My approach is flexible, structured, and encouraging. I aim to help you connect emotionally with your music. Together, we’ll turn ideas into sound — and discover the joy of creating your own guitar music.

About the lesson

Rhythm is the soul of the guitar, and that’s exactly where my teaching approach begins. I focus on helping students feel the beat, not just count it. Lessons combine rhythm guitar techniques, strumming control, and dynamic picking for expressive performance. We study different patterns, from simple downstrokes to complex syncopations. Students also learn groove development through genre-specific exercises. I integrate ear training to strengthen timing and awareness of space in music. The lessons are structured yet flexible, adapting to your personal style. The Fingerstyle Enthusiast learns how to balance melody and rhythm gracefully. The Worship Leader focuses on flow, timing, and transitions between songs. I give supportive, detailed feedback that builds both skill and confidence. Every student learns how rhythm affects emotional impact. We’ll use metronomes, loops, and recordings to refine your timing. My goal is to make you rhythmically fluent and expressive. You’ll leave every session playing with precision, feel, and confidence.
