About Scott

I have always loved Maths for the way it teaches problem-solving and logical thinking, and I enjoy helping students discover that it can be enjoyable and manageable too. Tutoring allows me to connect with students individually, understand their challenges, and celebrate their progress. Over the past 10 years I have had the privilege of working with learners from many different backgrounds, both in the UK and internationally. What keeps me passionate about teaching is not just seeing exam results improve, but watching students gain confidence and start believing in their own ability. I aim to create a positive, supportive space where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at their own pace.

About the lesson

I offer online Maths lessons tailored to each student’s needs, focusing on building confidence as well as improving results. With over 10 years of international tutoring experience, I have taught GCSE, IGCSE, AS and A-Level (Edexcel, OCR, AQA), as well as IB, NSC and IEB Mathematics. My approach is friendly, patient and collaborative, encouraging students to ask questions and actively engage with the material. Lessons are typically 60 minutes and combine clear explanations, step-by-step problem solving, and exam-style practice to ensure students are fully prepared. I adapt my teaching style to suit each learner, whether they need help catching up, pushing for top grades, or developing problem-solving skills. I enjoy supporting students of all levels, from those struggling to keep up in class to high achievers aiming for the best results. My goal is to help every student feel confident and capable in Maths.

Scott is a great tutor. We is a great teacher and explains everything thoroughly until each topic is understood by the students. He has great experience and knows exactly what type of questions could be asked. He is a good listener and makes you feel comfortable and willing to try and answer new questions. I’ve been working along with Scott for 3 years and he has given me support and stability with my maths and my marks show it. I highly recommend Scott as a tutor and I definitely think that if you are looking for someone to help get you to get the marks that you want on your paper he is the one to get you there.

Scott has tutored both my daughter and my son, we have known him for many years!

He is still currently tutoring my son, Zack, who is in his final year of A levels. Scott has been supporting Zack for over 4 years. We started our relationship with Scott while living in South Africa and we moved to the UK in 2023 and very fortunately Scott could continue to work with Zack. He supported him through tough GCSE’s, catching up quite a bit of work missed after moving countries.

He is an incredible tutor. Reliable, patient, very knowledgeable, flexible, supportive, kind and he has built up a brilliant relationship with Zack.

Zack manages his A level maths so well and this is a huge testament to Scott and his teaching.
