About Pia
My journey with piano began in early childhood and evolved into formal study culminating in a Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy. This academic experience allowed me to explore advanced technique, interpretive analysis, and structured teaching methodologies. Over 11 years of teaching, I have guided students through progressive development that balances discipline with inspiration.
I value patience, attentiveness, and individualized instruction. Every learner progresses differently, so I adapt explanations and exercises to match their needs and strengths. My teaching emphasizes consistent technical refinement while encouraging emotional connection to repertoire.
Outside lessons, I remain engaged in performance collaborations, score study, and continued pedagogical research. These experiences enrich my teaching and keep my approach evolving. Witnessing students transform from hesitant beginners into expressive performers is profoundly fulfilling. Supporting their musical growth, confidence, and long-term passion for piano remains at the heart of my professional mission.

Piano learning flourishes when technical accuracy supports expressive interpretation. My lessons focus on developing finger independence, reading fluency, rhythmic stability, and dynamic control from the earliest stages. Students learn how scales, chord progressions, and arpeggios strengthen coordination while simultaneously applying these skills to engaging repertoire. Each class blends structured drills with creative exploration so that progress feels purposeful rather than repetitive. I guide learners through posture alignment, hand relaxation, and tone shaping to ensure healthy technique and long-term development.
Beginners build confidence with simple melodies, steady tempo control, and clear note recognition. Intermediate students refine articulation, pedal coordination, and harmonic awareness. Advanced learners deepen interpretive nuance, phrasing sensitivity, and performance readiness. Every lesson includes targeted practice assignments, listening exercises, and structured feedback to reinforce consistent improvement.
As students gain fluency, they begin to approach the instrument with greater freedom and confidence. Piano becomes an outlet for creativity, reflection, and disciplined growth.
