About Matshidiso
Hello and welcome
My name is Matshidiso, and I am a proud University of the Free State graduate with a Bachelor of Education in the Intermediate Phase. I am a professionally trained educator with a strong foundation in literacy development, learner psychology, curriculum design and assessment strategies.
While I did not specialize exclusively in English, my qualification fully prepared me to teach and support language learning at Intermediate Phase level. During my training, I developed practical strategies for teaching reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary development and creative writing in ways that are engaging, structured and effective. I understand how to break down complex language concepts into simple, clear steps that learners can confidently apply.
What sets me apart is my ability to combine academic structure with encouragement. I do not believe in memorizing rules without understanding — I focus on helping learners truly grasp concepts so they can think independently, express themselves clearly and improve consistently. I create lessons that are interactive, purposeful and tailored to each learner’s needs.

As a University of the Free State Bachelor of Education (Intermediate Phase) graduate, my approach to private tutoring is learner-centered, supportive and results-driven. I believe every child learns differently, so I design my lessons according to each learner’s pace, strengths and areas that need improvement. My goal is not only to improve marks, but to build confidence, independent thinking and a genuine love for reading and writing.
My teaching methodology focuses on interactive learning. I combine guided reading, creative writing exercises, practical language activities and continuous feedback to ensure steady progress. I use real-life examples, storytelling techniques and structured writing frameworks to make English meaningful and easy to understand. What makes me unique is my ability to create a safe and encouraging learning space where learners feel comfortable asking questions and expressing themselves freely.
I am proficient in English and can confidently teach in English. I am also able to provide additional explanation and support where needed to ensure full understanding.
In a typical lesson, students can expect:

My lessons are aimed at Intermediate Phase learners (Grades 4–6), as well as students who need extra support in English, reading comprehension, grammar, spelling, vocabulary development and creative writing. I also assist learners who struggle with confidence in reading aloud or expressing their ideas in writing.
