Assessing the individuals proficiency is art and planning out the course work accordingly is the most efficient form of teaching. For a beginner understanding structures, anatomy, depth, views and form are key to building up fundamentals of drawing/painting. The course work involves drawing/painting an artwork each class to teach the the student fundamentals.
