About Brock

I am a guitar tutor with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory with Guitar Specialization and 4 years of teaching experience. My lessons focus on combining performance with music production skills. I cover fundamentals of audio engineering, home recording techniques, and tone shaping. Students also learn effects pedal use, basic mixing, and microphone placement. I’ve worked with early intermediate to advanced intermediate students and professional/expert session musicians. Lessons are practical and tailored to the student’s goals. I emphasize well-rounded musicianship by connecting playing, recording, and creative exploration. Students gain hands-on experience producing and refining their own music. I encourage experimentation with sound and arrangement. Over time, learners build confidence and independence. Lessons combine theory, skill-building, and applied recording techniques. My aim is to help students elevate their sound and fully express their artistry.

About the lesson

My teaching approach combines guitar technique with performance skills. I focus on ensemble playing, band dynamics, and stage presence. Students learn to listen and respond to other musicians in real time. Live performance etiquette is emphasized for professional presentation. Fingerstyle Enthusiasts learn to integrate their style into group arrangements effectively. Late Bloomers gain confidence, timing, and comfort in ensemble settings. Lessons include cueing, improvisation, and group exercises to simulate live scenarios. I also teach tone control, energy projection, and musical expression. Students practice performing in realistic contexts to develop poise and readiness. Lessons are structured, practical, and interactive.
