About Tom
I'm a university graduate with a conjoint degree in computer science, information systems, and finance, and I currently work in a professional DevOps role specialising in Kubernetes.
I have mentored and tutored at university and my job, and I enjoy sharing knowledge as I find the process mutually beneficial. Helping somebody grasp a concept they had previously found difficult is an exciting moment for both the student and me.
Learning programming and application development has given me a hobby that gives me the agency to create solutions to almost anything I can dream up and an opportunity to pursue a career that makes me excited. I want to share these possibilities with you!

I believe that understanding why things are done drives the how. I encourage students to question the approach so that we can gain a deeper understanding together. I can instruct, guide and provide discussion on the ideas being taught. Depending on the content and structure of a lesson, and your personal preferences, lessons can range from 30 minutes to 2 hours.
I have several years of experience in full-stack application development using JavaScript and C#, and I have previously tutored students in relational databases, language design, and automated software pipelines.
I'm available to tutor any age, especially those interested in programming and looking for mentorship and guidance. I can tutor beginner-level students and am open to working with you on specific content or developing a long-term lesson plan. Let's work together to achieve your learning goals!
