About Mairead

I'm an advocate of the importance of languages and how they can open our minds to the diverse possibilities around us. Languages now form a part of who I am and I couldn't imagine my life without them. Having the ability to communicate with so many different people around the world opens our minds to so much more than we could ever realise.

About the lesson

Throughout my 13 years as an educator, I have had the opportunity to work and grow as a teacher and leader in several different schools and countries and I have continually sought to foster an environment where students can thrive academically and personally. My approach to teaching centers on creating engaging and inclusive lessons that cater for diverse learning styles, ensuring that each student has the opportunity to reach their full potential. I believe in the power of differentiated instruction and personalised learning experiences to meet the needs of every learner, regardless of their background or abilities. Being multilingual, i have the ability to witness where gaps in comprehension can occur due to an L1 (mother tongue) interference and my firsthand knowledge of all three languages (English, Spanish and French) allows me to break those communication gaps and develop methods to bring students to a deeper understanding which in result enables students to express themselves confidently in the target language.
