About Ibla

I'm currently a sophomore student-athlete at Brown University. I grew up in New York and attended a small, Catholic, private school with a rigorous course schedule. I enjoy communicating and forming relationships with my students, whilst fostering a serious work environment to focus on achieving goals. I am on Brown's Division I Women's Fencing Team, and have been competing for about 13 years. If you're an athlete as well, and have any questions regarding physique development, nutrition, and mental health, I am also more than happy to help with that. During high school, besides the AP English and History courses I took AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and AP Calculus AB so I can also help with basic algebraic & biological concepts. I had a 1430 SAT score and was AP Scholar Award recipient with a score of 5 in AP Language and 4s in AP Literature, AP European History, AP Biology, and AP Calculus AB. I'm also trilingual, speaking English, Hungarian, and Spanish. I'm looking forward to working with you, and making sure you become your best, academic self!

About the lesson

My lessons would primarily be for children from grades K-12, although I am open to teaching adults as well. I would help with understanding and comprehension of homework assignments and essays, as well as setting the student up with study methods that remain effective in classes teach English and History. I can also assist with SAT Prep, college applications and concepts in various AP classes. I'd spend a bit of time getting to know the student as well, in order to figure out what study techniques work best for them. For example, if they struggle with distraction, I'd prepare them with fast, attention-captivating exercises that won't bore them and still allow them to retain information previously learned in class. I think I'd be different from other tutors because I strive on forming a connection with the student before anything else, and building up trust in order to establish a sense of comfortability and make them feel eager to learn in an encouraging environment.
