About Yassmin
I am a PhD graduate in cancer research from King’s College London, with a background in Clinical Pharmacy. I studied science throughout my academic career and now work across research, teaching, and clinical-focused projects. Alongside my PhD, I’ve been teaching at university level as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, supporting both undergraduate and MSc students.
I strongly believe that science is for everyone. Having worked with students at different levels, I understand that everyone learns differently, and I try to make my teaching approachable and practical.
Outside of work, I enjoy keeping a good balance, whether that’s spending time with friends or switching off from research. I also believe learning doesn’t have to feel overwhelming, it can actually be interesting (and even enjoyable!)

My lessons are structured and interactive, I adapt them depending on what each student needs. I focus on making sure you actually understand the topic, rather than just memorising it. I use things like diagrams, examples, and exam-style questions to help it click and to prepare you for exams.
Usually, we start by going over what you’re finding difficult and figure out where the confusion is coming from. Then we go back to the basics to build things up properly, once that foundation is clear, everything else becomes easier. We’ll go through practice questions together and then I’ll get you to try some on your own, with more challenging ones as you improve. I’m also happy to share extra questions to work on between sessions.
