About Yan
I am a doctoral student with a Putonghua (Mandarin Chinese) Proficiency Certificate and a Chinese Language Teacher Qualification Certificate. I have five years of teaching experience as a Chinese language teacher in China, along with international study experience in the United States and Malaysia. I am fluent in both Chinese and English and can switch smoothly between the two languages in communication. My courses focus on developing students’ comprehensive Chinese language abilities. I provide systematic training in Mandarin pronunciation and can help students accurately correct pronunciation errors, including tones and articulation. I also teach Pinyin in a clear and structured way, helping learners build a solid foundation for reading and speaking. In addition, my courses cover classical Chinese poetry, classical texts, and Chinese writing, guiding students to appreciate traditional literature while improving their reading comprehension and expressive skills. Through patient guidance and engaging instruction, I help students gain confidence and make steady progress in learning Chinese.
