About Shamini
My teaching philosophy is built on the belief that whether you are mastering a new language or a complex scientific field, clarity is key.
For my English students, I create a vibrant, interactive space where we focus on "active" literacy. We move beyond textbooks to use storytelling and debate to build natural fluency and reading confidence.
For Bioinformatics graduates, my approach is rigorous and application-heavy. We bridge the gap between biology and computer science by working through real-world datasets using R, ensuring you understand both the underlying algorithms and the biological implications of your results.
Every lesson is structured with a clear objective: we start with a concept review, move into hands-on practice, and end with a summary of key takeaways. I am dedicated to providing a personalized, supportive, and intellectually stimulating environment for every learner.

With a PhD in Bioinformatics and a Bachelor’s in English Language Instruction, I offer a tutoring experience rooted in academic excellence and practical application. Having navigated the rigorous demands of doctoral research, I intimately understand the challenges students face when tackling data-heavy, complex subjects. Simultaneously, my background in linguistics allows me to support younger learners in developing the vital communication and literacy skills they need for school success.
I choose to share my knowledge because I believe education should be accessible, engaging, and tailored to the individual. My goal is to empower my students—whether they are school students discovering the joy of reading or graduates navigating the complexities of computational biology—to reach their full potential through structured guidance and a supportive learning environment.
