About Jonathan
Thirteen years spent refining my craft in a Boston studio has given me a deep appreciation for the roots of American music. I live for the blues. My time is split between guiding working professionals, kids, and intermediate players who are tired of guessing how the fretboard works. Helping self-taught players find actual structure is what keeps me sharp after all this time.
We cover everything from barre chords and fingerpicking to the technical side of guitar maintenance. Returning learners often appreciate how I connect the dots between modern styles and the old masters.
My approach stays grounded in the tradition of legends like Robert Johnson. Whether you are struggling with theory or just want to nail a tricky solo, we find the path together. I enjoy watching students build the technique needed to play cleanly. Your goals are closer than they seem.

Grabbing your instrument is the first step toward understanding why specific songs work the way they do. We spend our time analyzing the soul of the music before we ever touch a guitar pick. The vibe is always hands-on and focused on authentic playing.
Expect to work through exam prep or improvisation techniques in a quiet, dedicated environment. I treat the instrument with the reverence it deserves while keeping the atmosphere light enough to make mistakes without feeling judged.
You will get comfortable with reading tabs and adjusting your own tuning during our routine checkups. Modern players often find that my history-heavy perspective adds a layer of depth they were missing. There is a specific grit in the playing styles of guys like Buddy Guy that we hunt for in every single practice.
