About Caroline
I hold a double honours degree in English and Drama from Goldsmiths, University of London, along with teaching qualifications from Sheffield Hallam and Sussex universities, and a Trinity Cert TESOL — giving me a working relationship with Trinity as an awarding body that spans over 30 years, not just familiarity with the exam from the outside.
I've also been employed to write teaching resources and full courses covering all Trinity levels in Communication Skills, so I don't just teach to the syllabus — I've helped shape how it's taught.
I'm also a qualified life coach, trained in narrative coaching methodology, which means confidence and performance anxiety aren't an afterthought in my teaching — they're built into how I work with every student from the first session.
Once lessons are agreed, every student and parent receives a tailored plan for the grade or goal in question, with regular feedback on progress.

Qualifications & experience:
I hold a double honours degree in English and Drama from Goldsmiths, University of London, and I've spent over 25 years teaching Drama and English, including as a Head of Department. I coach Trinity College London exams in Communication Skills and Public Speaking, and I bring over 25 years of experience examining for AQA and OCR, so I know exactly what assessors are listening and looking for in a live, evaluated performance.
Who my lessons are for:
Students preparing for Trinity exams from early grades through to the higher levels, where genuine performance and improvisation skills matter — as well as anyone who wants to build confidence speaking and performing in front of others, whether that's for an exam, an interview, or simply getting past the fear of being watched.
My approach:
Drama is where a lot of tutoring falls short — it's easy to find someone who can mark an essay, much harder to find someone who can actually direct a scene, build stage presence, or prepare a student for live performance under assessment. I bring a narrative coaching background to this work too, helping students find their own voice and structure their thinking under pressure, rather than just rehearsing a script.
Lesson length:
Lessons are typically an hour, with 45-minute sessions for primary-aged children.
Results:
My most recent Trinity student achieved a Grade 8 in Communication Skills — the top grade available. I'm happy to discuss references from past students on request.
