About Kayla
Given my many years of informal experience, I am incredibly patient and recognize that every student is different! While I have a general plan, I always adapt it to fit the students needs better since no student deserves to feel bad for struggling. We are a team and no tutoring works when the student feels misunderstood or overwhelmed. Additionally, I plan to be a professor in the future, so I have contact with many professors and teachers to discuss methods that work.

My lesson plans depend on the student! I prefer to have at least one slightly more informal meeting to get to know the student, but typically, I will explain the topic in a new way with analogies with a simpler sample problem or two before moving onto the more difficult problem from the class. In English, I review work and then explain the mistakes to look for in the future. I specialize in AP classes and the fast paced environment provided there. Typically tutor high schoolers, but willing to work with middle schoolers or college students as well.
