About Rhys
I am a recent Durham University Economics graduate, and I am starting my Master's degree in September. I was delighted to be awarded the top spot in A Level Economics in Northern Ireland. I have recently tutored 2 A Level Economics students, and although Economics was not their favourite subject to begin with, I helped them to enjoy the subject and get the grades they needed for university. I have also tutored Mathematics from the ages of 11 up to A Level. With each student, I try to adapt my teaching methods to suit their individual learning style. I've also volunteered at my local church and a nearby football club, which has helped me to understand how to engage with children.

Exams often cover a huge range of topics, so I will help students to differentiate between subject matter and give them ways to ensure that they remember as much as possible. Exam technique is also vital to succeed and to improve their exam technique I will focus on questions and styles that allow them to express themselves, while staying within the time limits of the exam. The most important aspect is that the students enjoy the sessions, as this will make it a lot easier for them to remember what we've covered. I always remembered a lot more from the subjects that I looked forward to studying in school, particularly the ones in which the teacher interacted with the students, so I will try to replicate this!
