About Asawari
Hello! My name is Asawari Andrews, and I am a graduate in Economics and Statistics with a deep passion for teaching. I have spent the last 7+ years helping students of all ages develop confidence and achieve academic success in Mathematics and English, these subjects that are not just essential for school, but also for life. I believe that every student has the potential to excel when given the right support. My goal is to create a learning environment where students feel motivated, supported, and challenged, a space where mistakes are not feared but seen as opportunities to grow. I hold a degree in Economics and Statistics, and have over 7 years of tutoring experience. I have supported students across different academic levels, from helping a Year 6 student boost their NAPLAN scores, to guiding a university student through statistical analysis for their thesis. My students have consistently improved not just academically, but also in confidence, discipline, and learning habits. My teaching approach is centered on building strong conceptual understanding through interactive and tailored methods. I adapt my strategies based on each student’s learning style whether visual, auditory, or kinesthetic. For example, for visual learners struggling with algebra, I use graphs, number lines, and color-coded steps to explain equations. For English learners, I break down complex grammar using real-world scenarios like writing formal emails or analyzing news articles to improve comprehension and expression. I also incorporate past exam papers, mock tests, and time management techniques to prepare students for real academic pressure. Encouraging active participation, critical thinking, and step-by-step problem solving helps students feel empowered and independent. Each lesson typically runs for 60 to 90 minutes, with the flexibility to extend sessions based on assignment deadlines, exam prep, or concept clarity. For Singing classes, my approach is child-friendly, fun, and structured. I combine vocal warm-ups, breathing exercises, pitch training, and rhythm work with songs that match the child's interest and vocal range. Each class is typically 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the child’s age and focus span. I have over 15 years of experience in teaching singing and am certified by Trinity. I have successfully trained numerous children for both leisure singing and graded music exams and these lessons are ideal for children aged 5 and above, from beginners to those preparing for graded vocal exams or stage performances.
