About Marialena
Hi, I’m Marialena – a diligent, articulate and committed young lady whose positive approach can provide promising results. I’m a joint undergraduate degree in Economics, Business and Management graduate from the University of Glasgow. As an IB Diploma graduate and a current university student, I feel confident teaching Mathematics in all levels, Business Studies and Marketing up to high school level. Being born in Greece, growing up in Qatar and studying in Glasgow, I’m a fluent Greek and English speaker with the passion, enthusiasm and determination to make my students love these subjects as much I do.

Being a person amongst seven billion people, having lived in three different countries in two different continents and having experienced three totally different cultures made me think of what makes people different. Every student has their own way of learning and for that reason, I am open to a variety of study techniques. I have great communication skills and along with my patient personality, I can explain a complex and difficult concept in the simplest way possible. I understand the difficulties that a student might have and how stressful it is for them to experience gaps within their learning process, however I believe that with some extra help they can overcome their fears and achieve high grades.
I’ve always loved coaching and providing extra help to students who needed a little push in their academic path. During my high school years, I’ve given extra classes to a diverse group of primary students by helping them with their everyday homework. As a student and a tutor, I am very organized and I like to have a clear view/layout of my plan of action. I prepare my lessons in advance in order to avoid any kind of misunderstanding and uncomfortable situations that might cause confusion and lack of confidence to my student.
