About Darcey
I am an undergraduate English Literature student at the University of York who attained a 9 in GCSE Spanish and an A at A level. While I did not pursue the subject to a university level, I am currently taking a specialised module in Hispanic American Literature and working towards my B2 DELE qualification. I am interested in both helping improve the language level of my students in a general sense that allows for real-world application but also have a keen awareness of the specificities of the exam papers and mark scheme so aim to boost attainment as well.

I will provide hour-long lessons on a flexible schedule for students studying GCSE and A level Spanish covering all 4 key skills - reading, writing, listening and speaking. As well as this, I am able to provide support with exam technique so as to not only help with general linguistic knowledge but ensure that this can translate into an improvement in marks. I am most experienced with the Edexcel specification for this, but am happy to look across different mark schemes and past papers to help a wider range of students. I will tailor the format of my lessons based on my students' individual needs to find the most useful balance between learning vocabulary and grammar, course content and practice questions. I am also happy to dedicate time to the IRP and film and literature essays for my A level students, helping to build the more specific skills that both of these aspects of the course require.
