About Gabo

I am a multi-instrumentalist musician, a music teacher for 27 years, I was part of various rock groups as lead guitar, sharing stages with important local musicians such as Los Piojos, Los Caballeros de la Quema, Divididos, Las Pelotas, etc. Later I became interested in Jazz and Argentine Folklore and in various musical genres within popular black music, at the same time that I began to study other musical instruments such as bass, piano, singing, sax, clarinet, flute, Afro-Latin percussion, in addition to playing drums since I was 12 years old, which was my first musical instrument. I am a sound engineer and I have worked with musicians such as Javier Malosetti Trío, Duo Malosetti Iricibar, Vox Dei, Los Caballeros de la Quema, etc. For more than 25 years, I have dedicated myself to teaching everything I have learned in this long way and today I continue to study but carry out research on popular music of African origin.

About the lesson

This teaching method created by me after many years of research and teaching work, is built on fundamental pillars to make the study of instruments, a significant instance for the student, for this, education is oriented in: Basic Notions of Sound: Permanent contact with technology applied to music. Comprehensive knowledge of the instrument: It allows a close and real approach to the instrument, either from the musical part or from the physical parts that make it up. Totally practical classes: The class is permanently developed on the instrument. Personalized teaching: Classes are only taught individually, to facilitate the learning process of each individual student. Ensembles: It gives the student the possibility to interact with another of the same level, putting into practice the knowledge acquired, both about technology and music, inserting it in the field of group work. Improvisation: In art, improvisation has nothing to do with unclear objectives. Improvisation is an essential resource within Jazz, in which the musician must put into play all the skills and tools that he has as an instrumentalist, resulting in this, the door to his own creativity without the need to repeat other people's musical schemes. Harmony: Fundamental to apply it to practice so that it is not a sealed knowledge, it helps the student / musician to understand the great amount of possibilities that we have when facing a work, whether its own or someone else's. Composition: It is the final objective and what distinguishes "ALMA", the goal is to form "MUSICIANS", not mere "repeaters" of alien schemes. In this instance, the student also puts into practice all the knowledge acquired during their training.
