About Musa
I am an engineer by profession and possess passion for teaching mathematics. Additionally, over last few years I have gained experience of teaching English, verbal and non-verbal subjects. I love teaching and transferring knowledge. I have plenty of experience of teaching younger children.
I have three children of my own whom I have taught Maths and they are doing extremely good at their schools - my elder daughter has passed 11(+) and she currently is in Townley Grammar School; she was tutored by me for two years prior to her exam.
I am an active member of STEM (Science Technology Engineering & Mathematics) and participate in STEM events highlighting importance of Science, Technology and Maths among the school children.
As I am working as a professional engineer, I can relate maths to the real world problems and therefore help building the basic maths concepts in younger children. I use a mix of taught lessons and practice sessions to strengthen their concepts with an aim to achieve the speed as well as accuracy while attempting exam questions. I also teach them various cross checking tricks so that they can always cross check their work quickly.
The practice work includes tailor made questions papers and practice material available from various renown 11+ study guides e.g. CGP, Letts, Collins, Bonds, etc. The practice tests will be timed to prepare students for the real world 11+ exam scenario. I thoroughly check the work to identify the gaps and then provide constructive feedback to raise student’s awareness.
