About Oliver

I have been on/off tutoring in the holidays for several years in maths and science.

Last year I tutored a mature student enrolled in a college nutrition course, having not done science in many years I helped him to grasp the fundamental concepts in biology that underpinned the theory-heavy course - he went on to achieve 80%+ in all exams in the time I tutored him.

The year before, I tutored a student in GCSE physics for three months over summer, upon returning to school he got a lot more out of lessons and was able to move up a set.

I have also taught two students mathematics, one in first year university, the other in year 7. With both I was able to instil greater confidence in problem solving.

About the lesson

I'm a patient and supportive teacher, focusing of finding many ways of explaining ideas to make them easier to understand and easier to remember.
In the past this has helped my students get more out of their classes in school, and even moving up sets!

My mathematics education through university engineering, not only makes me capable of teaching up to A-level, but also positions me well to motivate the maths through real world applications.
