About Paola

My name is Paola Sanabria, I was born in Managua, Nicaragua, but raised in Abilene, Texas. As my parents are missionaries, my family and I moved around a lot. I hold a BA in Education and have experience working with children from preschool to 5th grade and also, ESL to High School students. Since I was young, I have always known that I wanted to be a teacher. I wanted to teach young children not only about Reading or Math but also about what is important in life and what promotes their emotional well-being. I remember the impact teachers had on me when I was a child, both positive and negative. I believe the power of a teacher is underestimated. We can help children believe in themselves, strive to reach their dreams, and become citizens who contribute positively to their community.

About the lesson

With a passion for innovative education, I thrive on employing diverse teaching methodologies adapted to student needs. My approach integrates cooperative learning, flipped classroom techniques, and personalized instruction to cultivate engagement and autonomy in the learning process. I embrace problem-based and project-based learning to foster critical thinking and real-world application. Differentiated instruction and kinesthetic learning strategies ensure inclusivity and address diverse learning styles. Leveraging classroom technology, peer teaching, and interdisciplinary approaches, I create dynamic learning environments that empower students to explore, collaborate, and excel. Feedback is central to my practice, driving continuous improvement and student achievement. Through experiential learning and game-based activities, I aim to inspire curiosity and lifelong learning among my students.
