About Loryn
I am an elementary educator with experience supporting students in grades K-8 across subjects including reading, writing, math, and science. I am passionate about helping students build confidence, strengthen their skills, and develop a positive mindset toward learning.
As a tutor, I focus on creating a welcoming and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as they learn. I personalize each lesson to meet the student’s individual needs, learning style, and goals while using clear explanations, engaging activities, and step-by-step strategies to help students succeed.
My background in education has given me experience adapting instruction, identifying areas for growth, and helping students develop both academic skills and independence. I believe that every student has the ability to learn and grow when they are provided with the right support, encouragement, and tools.
I look forward to helping students reach their goals and feel more confident in their learning journey.

My approach as a tutor is centered around creating a supportive, engaging, and personalized learning environment where students feel confident asking questions and taking ownership of their learning. I believe every student learns differently, so I adjust my teaching methods based on their individual needs, learning style, goals, and current skill level.
My teaching methods include breaking down complex concepts into smaller, manageable steps, using real-world examples, modeling strategies, guided practice, and providing opportunities for students to explain their thinking. I focus on building both academic skills and confidence by celebrating progress while helping students identify areas for growth.
A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material and a discussion of the student’s goals for the session. We then move into direct instruction or skill practice, where I introduce or reinforce concepts using interactive activities, examples, and guided problem-solving. The lesson ends with independent practice, reflection, and a plan for what the student can continue working on.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my background in elementary education and classroom experience. I have experience working with students across multiple grade levels and subjects, including reading, writing, math, and science. I understand the importance of patience, encouragement, and adapting instruction so students feel successful while still being challenged.
My lessons are designed for elementary and middle school students, including students who need additional support, enrichment, homework help, test preparation, or targeted practice in specific skills. I work with students in grades K-8 and tailor each lesson to meet their academic needs and learning goals.
