Teaching Method & Techniques
I focus on building understanding rather than memorization. I use clear, step-by-step explanations and connect math concepts to real-life examples so students can see how math applies to everyday situations. I incorporate visual aids, hands-on activities, and interactive problem-solving to keep students engaged. I also adapt my teaching style to each student’s learning pace and preferences, whether they benefit from repetition, visual learning, or guided practice.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Each session is structured but flexible:
Warm-up (5–10 minutes): Quick review of previously learned material to reinforce retention
Introduction (10–15 minutes): Explanation of a new concept using simple language and examples
Guided Practice (15–20 minutes): Working through problems together, encouraging questions and discussion
Independent Practice (10–15 minutes): Student attempts problems on their own while I provide support as needed
Wrap-up (5 minutes): Review key points and identify areas for further practice
What Sets Me Apart
I prioritize patience and encouragement, helping students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. I break down complex ideas into manageable steps and celebrate progress to build confidence. I also emphasize critical thinking, so students don’t just get the right answer—they understand how and why it works. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel motivated and capable.
