About Erin
Hello, I have been teaching for 14 years. I enjoy teaching, and see it as a calling and a passion. My favorite part about teaching is when I get to witness a student learn a concept for the first time. I call it the "light bulb" moment! It makes me so happy to see their success and confidence. I believe that every individual possesses a quality that sets them apart from others. These qualities should not only be celebrated but also valued. It is important to learn these character traits so that each person feels included and seen.

My philosophy of teaching is you must show your students that you care for them before they begin their learning journeys. As a teacher, I have found this to be one of the most important premeasures to ensure the student is successful. A normal lesson plan for me starts with finding out how much the student is vetted in the subject I will be teaching. This background knowledge will help me to meet the student where they are so then I will be able to scaffold the learning. In 14 years of education, I have taught Third Grade, First Grade, and now currently am teaching Pre-K. I am comfortable with teaching students up to 12 years old, but will teach older depending on the subject.
