About Celine

I am a chess tutor who sees the game as a fun mix of art and logic. I love the mental challenge of chess and I want to share that excitement with you. My teaching style is logical and patient, designed to help you organise your thoughts. I have played in competitions myself, so I know what it feels like to play a real game and can give you practical advice.

I specialise in helping beginners and intermediate players stop making simple mistakes and build a solid game plan. I have helped many students improve their rating and enjoy the game more. We will work together to find your weak spots and turn them into learning opportunities. I am here to be your practice partner and mentor.

My main aim is to give you the skills to enjoy chess for the rest of your life, whether you play online or with friends. I love seeing a student use a tactic we practised or come up with a winning plan. I am dedicated to your improvement and look forward to helping you reach your goals. Let’s make your next move your best move.

About the lesson

My method for teaching Chess focuses on teaching you how to think clearly and make a plan, rather than just reacting to what your opponent does. I teach you the three parts of the game—the beginning, the middle, and the end—so you always know what to do next. Instead of just memorising moves, I teach you the general rules of how to control the board and keep your king safe. My lessons are interactive, and we will often look at your own games to see where you can improve.

We will practise solving chess puzzles to help you spot tricks and traps quickly during a game. I focus a lot on teaching you to visualise the board in your head and think a few moves ahead. We will also study games played by masters to learn strategies that always work. I adjust the difficulty of our lessons to match your level, pushing you enough to learn but keeping it fun.

I am committed to helping you stay calm and focused, even when the game gets tough. We will talk about how to manage your time and how to come back from a mistake. By encouraging you to think critically, I help you question every move. My goal is to turn you into a strong player who understands the reason behind every decision on the board.
