About Uma

I am a dedicated Singing tutor with over 12 years of professional teaching experience. I work with School students, College students, and Working Professionals, helping them improve their vocal abilities and gain confidence in their musical performances.

My teaching approach combines structured learning with creativity. I start by evaluating each student's strengths and goals before designing a customised learning plan. This personalised method allows students to learn at their own pace while achieving measurable progress.

My lessons focus on vocal warm-ups, breathing techniques, pitch accuracy, rhythm development, vocal expression, voice projection, and performance preparation. Through practical exercises, performance activities, and song interpretation, students develop both technical skills and artistic confidence.

Besides Singing, I teach Music Theory, Ear Training, Vocal Coaching, and Music Appreciation. These related subjects help students gain a broader understanding of music and become more versatile performers. I also provide guidance on maintaining vocal health and establishing effective practice routines.

I believe that confidence is one of the most important qualities for a singer. Therefore, I work closely with students to help them overcome challenges, improve steadily, and perform with confidence. My mission is to inspire students to reach their goals while enjoying every step of their musical journey.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology for Singing is centred on flexibility, creativity, understanding, and effective time management. I believe that every student possesses a unique voice and learning style, which is why I create personalised lessons that support individual growth and confidence. My aim is to help students enjoy the learning process while developing strong vocal and musical skills.

I begin by understanding each student's goals, musical preferences, strengths, and areas for improvement. Based on this assessment, I design customised lesson plans that allow students to progress at a pace that suits them. Whether they are beginners or advanced learners, my approach adapts to their specific needs.

Creativity is a fundamental part of my lessons. I incorporate vocal exercises, song interpretation activities, listening practice, and performance opportunities to keep learning enjoyable and engaging. Students are encouraged to explore different genres and discover their unique artistic style.

My lessons focus on breath control, pitch accuracy, rhythm, vocal tone, diction, expression, and stage presence. Through practical exercises and guided practice, students gradually build both technical ability and confidence.

Understanding and patience help create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves and learning from mistakes. I believe that encouragement and constructive feedback are essential for long-term growth.

Time management ensures that each lesson is productive and balanced. Sessions include warm-ups, skill development, song practice, and progress reviews.

In addition to Singing, I can teach Music Theory, Ear Training, Vocal Health, Sight Singing, and Performance Skills. My goal is to help students become confident, expressive, and capable singers.
