My approach to teaching English as a second language (ESL) is student-focused and adaptable, ensuring every learner’s unique needs and goals are met. I prioritise building a strong foundation in practical language skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—through engaging, real-life contexts.
Lessons are designed to be interactive and supportive, incorporating a variety of teaching strategies such as:
- Communicative Activities: Role-playing, discussions, and storytelling to encourage fluency and confidence in speaking.
- Visual and Contextual Aids: Use of images, videos, and real-world examples to enhance comprehension.
- Scaffolded Learning: Gradually increasing the complexity of tasks to build language proficiency step-by-step.
- Grammar in Use:** Teaching grammar through its practical application in everyday language, rather than isolated drills.
- Cultural Awareness: Integrating cultural elements to help students navigate language nuances and idiomatic expressions.
