About William
I have been teaching singing for 5 years, and I came to it from the stage. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music, and during my degree I performed in student productions and local theater. That performing background makes my lessons practical rather than purely technical.
I am an energetic teacher, and my students feed off that energy. A teenager who barely sang above a whisper in her first lesson recently performed a solo at a school concert. Her confidence grew because we practiced performing, not just singing.
My lessons suit beginners and developing performers equally. We work on healthy technique, storytelling through song and the courage to be heard. Every student gets exercises recorded on their phone for home practice.

A trained ear fixes most singing problems before they appear. My lessons include call and response singing, interval games and short dictation exercises. Students start hearing their own mistakes within a month, and that is when progress speeds up.
Expression is what separates a singer from someone who just hits notes. We work on the meaning of every song, line by line. I ask students to speak the lyrics first, and the change in their singing is immediate.
Many of my students love musical theatre, so stage skills matter in my studio. We practise walking on, standing tall and singing to the back row. One shy student recently landed a lead role in her school show after we worked on projecting without pushing.
Lessons move fast and stay positive. I give honest corrections, but always with a reason and a fix. Students leave knowing what improved and what comes next.
