About Alex
My love for learning furthers my love for teaching. I was a math tutor at Comprehensive College Prep for 2 years, and I currently host tutoring sessions over Zoom or Skype. So far, I have helped over 30 high school students in their math courses. As a Cognitive Science and Computing major, my mathematics experience reaches up to the linear algebra level.

I tutor topics in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Precalculus. My approach to teaching is creating engaging and effective study techniques, such as mnemonics. Throughout each session, I note students’ strengths and weaknesses, and I create take-home study guides for the topics covered that day. Knowing that everyone has a unique set of abilities, I aim to help students target their strengths that will help them succeed in their math courses. Overall, I hope to connect with students on a student-student level and hone in on skills I use myself.
