About Xuan Yi
Hi there! I am a native Chinese speaker from Malaysia with a strong academic background in Chinese language and literature, backed by top distinction results in standardized national senior examinations. Having successfully taught kindergarten, primary, and secondary students, as well as adult beginners, I am truly passionate about making language learning an enjoyable and rewarding journey.
Coming from a trilingual background in Malaysia, I am completely fluent in English. This allows me to explain subtle grammar rules, vocabulary, and cultural nuances clearly in English, making lessons relaxed and stress-free, especially for non-native learners and beginners! I love helping students overcome language barriers, build genuine confidence, and achieve their personal Mandarin goals in a supportive environment.

Each session lasts between 1 to 2 hours, depending on the student's needs. My lessons are suitable for everyone who wants to learn Chinese, from absolute beginners with no prior knowledge to kindergarten, primary, and secondary school students, as well as adult beginners. I focus on making learning interactive using visual aids, custom slides, and engaging activities to boost retention.
As a trilingual tutor fluent in English and Chinese, I use clear English explanations so non-native speakers feel supported. Whether focusing on basic vocabulary, grammar, or conversational fluency, I create an encouraging environment where students build real confidence.
