About Matthew
I taught for 28 years before moving into the educational charity sector, but am still intimately involved in schools, both through my Fiancée and also with educational outreach activities.
I am still in regular touch with many former students and have been to 17 weddings of former pupils, as well as being asked to write many references for them!
I specialise not just in my subject areas - History, Politics, Classical Civilisation, Thinking Skills and the EPQ - but in written and oral communication skills which are vital, not just for excelling in examinations and interviews, but which are also essential soft skills for life.

Lessons of 30 minutes to an hour; can also do intensive sessions. I am not trying to be a 'sage on the stage', but your 'guide on the side' so tutorials will be very interactive.
Very experienced in teaching essay technique and examination skills. Led a school to an 'outstanding' rating when inspected.
Specialise in teaching Years 7-13, but can also prepare for Prep School Common Entrance and Scholarship Exams and have a proven record in preparing students for entrance to Oxford and Cambridge Universities, including vital interview schools.
Graduate of The Queen's College, Oxford University.
