About Liz
I have 12 years experience tutoring grade school through college students in math, science, engineering, and technical writing both remotely and in person. I also taught high school for 2 years and consulted for McMinnville School District, writing curriculum for their engineering pilot program at Evergreen Aviation Center that aligned with Portland Community College’s ENGR 100 course.

At all levels, I focus on strong mathematical foundations, conceptual understanding, and technical communication. My goal is to help students build confidence & study skills, so they can build on it and advocate for their own education now and in the future. I ask about student interests so I could make the curriculum relatable to their life and experiences. Students know how much I can teach them, once they know how much I care.
I create individualized lesson plans to encourage student engagement based on student interests, learning styles, needs, and academic goals. I analyze student records weekly to address problematic areas, ensure student progress and communicate with parents. Then I collaborate with teachers and parents to ensure that students thrive.
