I mostly listen to my students because that is the first step. When I say listening, it is a method and not just writing down words. It's understanding the emotions, feelings and problem. I use examples of real people and some philosophy to help them make their choices along with advice about how to convince family regarding the same. For that their are a lot of tools such as cost benefits analysis, etc.
