About Kiran
Hello! I’m Kiran Arya, and I’m excited to be your Mathematics tutor. While I don’t have formal teaching experience, I’ve spent years homeschooling my younger brother and volunteering to teach underprivileged kindergarten kids. These experiences have helped me develop a strong ability to break down complex concepts into easy-to-understand steps. I believe every student deserves to feel confident in their learning, and I’m passionate about making lessons fun and engaging. Whether you’re afraid of MATH or you love MATH, I’m here to help you reach your goals with patience and enthusiasm. I’m confident that, together, we can make math super easy! My approach as a tutor is to help students truly understand the core fundamentals of each math concept, break down problems into digestible steps and focusing on understanding the fundamentals. At the same time, I like to keep the process interactive and fun. I try to introduce game scenarios in my classes. for eg. "beat your best time," "solve faster than last time", etc. I believe teaching is a noble profession, where no doubt is too small to be addressed, and every student deserves to be answered in the simplest possible manner. I prefer to teach grade 1 to 8, as I have majority of experience for this age. A typical lesson plan of my class would be as follows: 1. I review the foundational knowledge and ensure students understand it before moving forward. I like to explain the concept using visual tools wherever possible. (objects, charts, etc.) 2. I reiterate the concept understanding from the students themselves. 3. I provide sample problems for solving with game scenarios 4. Lastly, I summarize the concept and assign simple but connected to real-world problems for homework.
