About Francisca

Hi there! My name is Francisca Wood, and I am a bioengineer and neuroscientist with a degree from George Mason University. I am currently pursuing a Master's of Engineering in Computer Science and have a deep love for math and science. However, what truly sets me apart is my passion for teaching.

I have been tutoring for over 10 years and have found great joy in helping students achieve their academic goals. Whether it's breaking down complex concepts, guiding students through challenging problems, or simply providing encouragement and support, I am dedicated to helping my students succeed.

What I love most about tutoring is the opportunity to be a positive role model for my students. About the lesson

As a tutor with 12+ years of experience in math and science, my approach is focused on helping students understand key concepts and building a strong foundation in the subject. I believe that every student learns differently, and so I tailor my teaching method and techniques to the individual needs and learning styles of each student.

In my lessons, I begin by assessing the student's current knowledge and understanding of the subject, and then work to fill any gaps in their understanding before moving on to new material. I use a variety of teaching techniques, including visual aids, real-world examples, and interactive exercises to help students engage with the material and deepen their understanding.

A typical lesson plan with me would start with a brief review of the previous lesson to ensure that the student has a solid understanding of the material before moving on to new concepts. I then introduce new material in a clear and structured way, taking the time to answer any questions and provide additional examples as needed. We then work through exercises together to reinforce the concepts.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my passion for teaching and my ability to connect with students on a personal level. I am patient, encouraging, and committed to helping my students succeed.
