About Valerie

Hello! I'm Valerie :)

I have been tutoring for 5+ years, and I am very passionate about making sure every student feels comfortable and capable of learning!

I have graduated with an IB diploma, achieving a 97 ATAR, followed by a Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering/Bachelor of Science (Neuroscience) with first-class honors. I have since worked across multiple sectors, spanning from research to public health policy to non-profit organizations. But through it all, one passion that has always remained was teaching.

Sometimes learning can be extremely challenging and disheartening, especially when working towards deadlines or under a rigid curriculum. I am here to break down the process for you and make learning fun and engaging.

I speak three languages: English, Russian and French. I also have experience teaching neurodivergent students and creating a safe and comfortable environment where students can be themselves and ask any questions.

Whatever the problem, let's tackle it together!

About the lesson

I keep lessons clear, supportive, and tailored to you. Science and math can feel overwhelming, so I focus on breaking things down until they make sense.

Depending on your needs, the lesson can focus on:
- Explaining any concepts that you're struggling to wrap your head around
- Working through any assignment questions
- Exam revisions
- Help with essay writing, including planning, researching and critical thinking

I have tutored students of all ages and am great at adapting my lessons to your needs. I also try to make lessons fun and engaging. Let's get learning together!
