About Syed Usman

I'm currently studying Engineering Maths at University, involving: analysis, modelling, scientific computation and their application to engineering. Over the years I've tried many revision methods. I didn’t always succeed first time. In year 12, I got just a C in AS Maths. I was disappointed and trying to bounce back was hard. I wanted an A* but it seemed impossible. But I persevered, and used all the help I could get, from meeting teachers at 7am, to watching you tube videos and doing every past paper three times. It was a difficult year filled with many doubts but I managed to get an A* in A Level Maths! It was this year which really made me believe that anything can happen. If a student wants it and is willing to put the effort in, they can achieve any grade they want to. Getting good grades isn't just for those students who are "clever", it is for those who want it and put in the effort for it. I love football! I was the captain of my uni team. We played 3 times a week and took part in tournaments and were very successful. I love reading books, something I wasn't keen on during school years. I love reading personal development books that teach me how to be more effective, motivated, and successful.

About the lesson

I try and adapt my methodology to the student as best as possible. Each student has a specific way of learning which best suits them and I plan my lessons so that the student will be able to fully understand the topic at hand. I am very keen on the fact that teaching is also one of the best ways of learning. I frequently ask my students to teach what I've learnt to me as a way of seeing whether they truly understand what is being taught.

If you are able to cancel the lesson atleast 24 hours in advance then payment will not be required.
If the student wants tuition at their home and they live extremely far then a small additional cost will be added onto the fee.
