About John
First of all, I love teaching and working with students. I know that mathematics, statistics and technology can be difficult. Therefore, I believe that I have a unique gift of analyzing where student competencies are at and help them to grow in their areas and weaknesses.

I have a hands-on teaching style...I like to identify where the student is having problems (specific problem sets) and then work step by step in helping the student to understand how to solve the particular problem. I like to approach the math or statistic problem step by step, getting feedback from the student at each step.
A typical lesson plan is to first review concepts and methodologies from the previous week...then present any new concepts and techniques needed for the new problem sets. After discussing the theory, I like to spend the majority of the tutorial session working problem sets and/or similar problems that are due in the near future.
Students have frequently commented that I am good at determining the strengths and weaknesses of the student, and developing plans for how to strengthen the student in the weaker areas. I communicate well one-on-one and show a lot of patience with the student.
I have tutored students at the Junior and Senior high-school levels, undergraduate and master's level college courses. I have tutored the subject areas of Algebra I, Algebra II, Precalculus, Statistics, Electronics, Computer Programming I, Computer Technology and Electrical Networks
