About Thomas
I am an 18-year-old student from Wellington, now enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering with Honors (BeHONS) at the University of Canterbury. I believe that everyone has the potential to achieve highly - the only limiting factor is how much effort you are willing to put in. Study is about finding out how you can support yourself rather than your teacher providing all the support.

Hi all! I'm a first-year Engineering student looking to pass on the knowledge I have gained from going through the various NCEA Sciences. I have gained experience in working with kids through working at a holiday program and working as a Touch Rugby referee. I have also achieved NCEA Level Two and Level Three with an Excellence Endorsement. Although I have not tutored professionally before, I hope that I can use my previous experiences to help your child achieve their full potential. I have experience in the following standards up to NCEA L3: - Physics (Nuclear, Experimental, Waves, Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism) - Chemistry (Redox, Acids & Bases, Structure & Bonding, Organics, and Spectroscopy) - Earth and Space Science (Experimental, Socio-Scientific Issues, Atmospheric Systems, Astronomy) I also have experience in learning study habits. My darkest secret is that I achieved NCEA Level One with only a Merit Endorsement. After that, I researched methods of study that would help me achieve higher grades. This resulted in my two Excellence Endorsements in the following years. Lessons are for any student in years 9 - 13, and will typically last an hour, although shorter periods can be arranged on request. I can tutor around Riccarton, Avonhead, Burnside, Bishopdale, and Bryndwr - or, you can drop your child off at Bishopdale Library, Fendalton Library or the UC Library for their session. I will try to be flexible and fit tutoring around my study, but please note that I may not be available at times. I will let you know as soon as possible to reschedule. Cheers! Thomas vdG
